For those who enjoy the more experimental side of music but also need a rest from time to time.
I formed 'Electrip' in 1999. I started playing psychedelic/garage style tracks with a acoustic drum-kit, electric guitar with a couple of pedals (distortion & chorus), bass guitar and a yamaha home keyboard which I fed through a cheap radio shack delay unit. A year later I got my first computer and played around with samples and soft-synths. Over the years I've put together a small studio with hardware and software. I currently use Ableton Live and Reason sequencers, Native Instruments software. On the hardware side I use Korg and Novation synths and Roland V-Drums. Now I work on sample and Reason ReFill collections inbetween psychedelic and electronic experiments.

Story behind the song
The title 'Cardboard Box' comes from the Damo Suzuki (ex-Can) CD I'd just bought which came in a, yes that's right, a cardboard box! This is a shuffling mellow track, I play drums, bass, electric guitar and keyboard. This is one of my favourites of the 'Crimes of the Future' album, I actually sat down and written most of this - the other tracks are mostly improvisations. oddbjorn reviews 'cardboard box' when i first saw your bandname i was hoping that it was taken from the first x-hol album, and that i would get to hear something in the krautrock vein. then i came to your page and read about cardboard box being the title of a damo suzuki-album then i read your artist bio, and it said...yes! that means i had great hopes that a murky and mysterious landscape of sounds was awaiting...and then i clicked the mp3.... right now when i write this it´s 7 o´clock in the morning (and i´ve decided to not sleep this night, as to fix my daily rhythm once and for all.. hopefully i´ll be tired tomorrow night) i am for the third time listening to the song. this is just the right music for the mood i´m in. this piece is so beautiful and hypnotic. the drums are way back there in the mix with a sound that brings the tnt-album by tortoise to mind. the bass, piano and guitars melt into each other. a curios little melody cautiously explore the landscape.... mmmm...nightmusic! i love it! i´ll quote abba on this one "thank you for the music", and i´ll definately be checking your other stuff out soon! /odbjorn
