DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Lyrics
TRIBUTE TO THE MASTER ARTIST Where did you find such harmony of colour When you first began to paint the dawn Blending sight and scent and sound together To compliment the rising sun? What is the hidden combination To unlock the secret of the colour wheel? Where did you find such inspiration When you designed the blueprint for the dawn? I try to match you stroke for stroke To the embarrassment of a blushing canvas Shades of crimson alizarin Wash into a sea of cerulean blue Whatever made me think I could capture Something of the beauty of creations rapture Try as I may I can never reach The quality of handiwork In your Morning masterpiece
