Story behind the song
Born July 23, 1980 in Louisiana, Erica Jacobs overcame many obstacles as she survived the harsh, day-to-day plantation lifestyle of Napoleonville (Assumption Parish). In 2004, she started becoming more in tuned with rap music and later discovered her untamed lyrical abilities and adopted the name Go Getta.
Due to the lack of production and engineering skills in her local community, she later called on Adam W. Thomas aka T-Boy, CEO / executive producer of F.A.M.O.U.S. Entertainment in the spring of 2007. She would then go on to work under the productions of T-Boy for Garage Kept Productions and record various mixtape hits. Through artist development, T-Boy teamed up with Southernbred Entertainment's CEO, Rick Jones, and helped targeted Go Getta's future in her music career and released an official smash, club hit single titled "Umma Do It" featuring Rick Jones under the production of J-Rocca of Vivrant Productions / Dallas, TX.
Since then, she has performed live in various cities throughout the state such as Thibodaux, Houma, Baton Rouge, New Orleans Westbank and even Marshall, TX. On October 14, 2008 the single was available for digital download worldwide via iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon MP3, Amie Street, etc.
(She is currently working under her own production and label and has scheduled future mixtapes to be released.)
