Story behind the song
"Less Alive" was a poem I wrote in 2002, looking back on the pill habit I nearly developed in High School. Fortunately, I ended up quitting long before I ever had a chance to become addicted, and I never got into any major trouble because of it, but not everyone is as lucky. And, sometimes, I still miss it. After all, I wouldn't have done it in the first place if I didn't like it. So, now, I deal with the willpower thing. There's times where I'll want to get high, and times when I do, but I'm far more careful about what I'm putting in my body now, and how often, because I never want to end up becoming an addict that can't handle the high, and can't stop. "Less Alive" was later set to music and retitled "Addiction (Less Alive)".
