Story behind the song
I was a senior about to graduate from High School the year the Columbine Shootings took place, and, as the resident freak who wore black, owned a trench coat, wrote about violence and death, and had a well-known grudge with virtually 2/3 of the school, I was pegged as the next potential school shooter. In a strange sort of way, I understand and sympathize with the kids holding the guns that day, because, honestly... it could have very well been me. Thank God I never felt that hopeless...
