Welcome! I am a singer/songwriter of different styles of Christian and Country Music....Enjoy the message I bring, and may your heart be ministered to.
Hello! I'm very glad you stopped in to listen and visit. :) The message I carry is simply this...Jesus loves you and I do too. Hope you enjoy what you hear, and get a blessing from the music, as God does not give His people gifts to just set them upon the shelf, and never be used. I'm only as good as the Lord helps me to be, and I'm thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I'm NOT perfect, never claimed to be; but on the other hand, I have a message to minister in song, and I do that to the best of my ability. I fully realize there are many songs I demo here that don't fit my style/voice, but I can't run out and get a singer that fits everytime I write a song. :) What I write or cover comes from the heart. I've endured many hard trials in my life, and each one has, in one way or the other made its way into a song that others can relate to. All of my songs except for noted exceptions are free downloads. I'm not a professional by any means, nor am I interested in becoming one; and so the music is given away just as freely as the message was given to me. If you like instrumental music, check out my instrumental page at

Story behind the song
I'd have to say I got hit with a lightning bolt of inspiration upon listening to David Lunbeck's song "Open My Eyes", which was written for his son who was leaving for college. When one catches my ears like that, I always ask if it's ok if I do a cover..for no other reason than that I simply love the song. :) Only this time, I thought I'd bit off more than I could chew, LOL..as the range of notes were pretty long. :) The track was fun to build, and the song was emotional for me to sing, as it could have written for my own son, Michael, who graduated high school almost three years ago...he still lives at home, but things are different...where I was once so important to him..I don't hold that place anymore, and I'm not supposed to. And some of the feelings that come out of Open My Eyes, hit me as I listened to David sing...and I cried. I always enjoy doing covers, as I learn many things while working with other people's music. :) Many thanks to David for allowing me to cover this in my way...above all, thanks to the Lord for helping me once again to bring another song together. :)
Lyrics
Open My Eyes by David Lunbeck 04/2008 I don't want to be the one to say That you are wrong, head in the clouds Take a left or a right You don't belong lost in the crowd You always seem to be so calm No matter what is going on Bop Bop.... (Chorus) Open my eyes to the world you see Give me some time I want to dream Be like a child No worries for awhile And dream Drink black coffee in the morning make it loud make it strong Seven or eight to five in the evening The hours so long You always had a heart of gold Got to get back to the place I know Bop Bop .... (Chorus)

You def sound like Karen Carpenter on this track, I closed my eyes and could imagine her singing this. I too have a son who left for university a couple of years ago, so I can also relate to this one as you do. Production is perfect.

Excellent job covering this track. It was a pleasure to listen too. Keep up the good work. Peace ~ES~
Tammy Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comments a lot. I compose these songs from scripture as an encouragement to myself and others and to give praise to The Almighty. Something happens outside of myself when I open The scriptures and sing from them. To my own amazement, I tap into a power beyond myself and I believe you and I know what, or more correctly who it is. Yes! I also sometimes cry when I hear the final music. Praises to the El Shaddai! I realized I never heard "OPEN MY EYES". This song seems to me, to be your best work to date. It's a well-written song by David and you rendered it in style. It has a real professional "radio play" sound. All your vocals and harmonies are in tune and tight. The background instrumentals are mixed well. This is a definite two thumbs up! Blessings!

Very catchy tune, shiny and positive.Good vibrations are emanatin' from every part of it,-arrangment,delivery,chords etc.Nice work!!I can even hear some Beatles' influences, which always scores high in my book.Production is pretty articulated, though I know,- it's a hard task to deal with such a number of trax, especially in the vocal dept.Your voice is standing out,-nice and clear.Congrats to all involved!!

Gorgeous! You hit a homerun here, and I love the high harmonies! Wonderful rendition of a wonderful song; it comes across with the appropriate amount of whimsy and sweetness. The 'toy' sounds on the intro are perfect; You achieved a very full and active chorus that perfectly contrasts with the verses. Its funny, Dave's chimerical (though deep) lyrics take on a bit of a different meaning from Gospel diva Tammy Swindell... Dave, if you are listening, YOU ARE A GREAT SONGWRITER. Johnny

Fabulous work, and yes, an excellent, emotional song that does capture the feel of loved ones spreading their wings, and the hopes and dreams of young adulthood, all the while seeming to us like they were in diapers just yesterday. Beautiful, full, and rich harmonies, very nice feel and flow. Great choice.
