Story behind the song
David Jacobs is an international human rights and labour lawyer who stood as Defense Counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal in Rwanda, and provided legal perspectives with Michael Mandel on NATO's attack on Yugoslavia in 1999. David Jacobs also represented the United Steelworkers in their successful negotiations to restore pensions and benefits among two STELCO locals between 2004-2006.
