Country, Pop, Southern Rock, Songwriter
I'm a songwriter in Nashville. My music ranges from country to southern rock to pop. I don't have aspirations of being an artist. I'll leave that up to the pros and hopefully get a cut or two one day. All songs here are copywrited by me and any other co-writers or publishers involved with any particular song. If you're an artist and want to cut one of my songs, please contact me for information regarding permission and licensing. Thanks!

Story behind the song
I see so many people every day (myself included) who just need to loosen up a little. Enjoy life. This song started out as a story about a straight-laced guy who suddenly decides to "go bad" one day. Instead of him turning into a bad boy, I spun him into a fun song about how this guy found happiness when he decided to stop caring what everyone thought and start living with passion and desire. And a Harley, too.
Lyrics
VERSE 1 Joe was your average ordinary guy Livin’ the typical ordinary life Until one day he realized He was turnin’ forty Spent all his years on the straight and narrow The wildest he got was when he wore a sombrero At a Mexican place called El Caballero Back when he turned thirty CLIMB So he made is his mind up right there in his cubicle He didn’t want to waste more time bein’ so responsible CHORUS He’s gonna live a little Stray a little farther from the middle He’s gonna take a few chances Learn some new dances Start figurin’ out life’s riddle Instead of livin’ life so scared Like he had always done before He’s gonna live a little A little more VERSE 2 So he went straight home and tore the tags off his mattress And he liked the way it felt bein’ a little rebellious Sure got him a strange look from the missus But it’s all good Went out and bought a new Harley Davidson Still workin’ up the nerve to take her out for a spin The neighbors all thought he’d gone off the deep end From where they stood CLIMB But he was thinkin’ more clearly than he ever really had before It was the first time he felt alive since 1984 REPEAT CHORUS VERSE 3 Joe’s life has really changed ever since that day Up and quit his job as a CPA And he found his true calling teaching eighth grade Woodshop class He rides that Harely every day to school He’s even been bungee jumpin’ a time or two The missus still thinks he’s a crazy fool But happy at last CLIMB Joe tells everybody it’s never too late to change Now that he’s pushin’ fifty he don’t care if you think he’s strange REPEAT CHORUS
