Country, Pop, Southern Rock, Songwriter
I'm a songwriter in Nashville. My music ranges from country to southern rock to pop. I don't have aspirations of being an artist. I'll leave that up to the pros and hopefully get a cut or two one day. All songs here are copywrited by me and any other co-writers or publishers involved with any particular song. If you're an artist and want to cut one of my songs, please contact me for information regarding permission and licensing. Thanks!

Story behind the song
This song is based on a composite of my two kids. My son inspired the first verse, which led to the idea for the song. My daughter inspired the rest of the story. It ended up being a father/daughter song, but falling asleep in my son's bed one busy night gave me the idea.
Lyrics
VERSE 1 Daddy would you lay down with me It’s dark in here and I can’t sleep My little girl called to me one night I said only for a minute or two ‘Cause I’ve got a lot of work to do Next thing I knew it was morning light CHORUS Where did the time go In the blink of an eye today became tomorrow I left a lot of things undone Wish I could borrow Just a couple more hours before it’s time to go And I want to know Where did the time go VERSE 2 One day when she was ten years old Shootin’ hoops on a back yard goal She said Daddy would you show me how to play I said I can play for a minute or two Then I’ve got a bunch of chores to do We played horse for two hours straight REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE It won’t be long and a boy will call To ask her out on her first date And just like that it will be the fall When she trades me for a college roommate So I’ll let a few things go today And spend my time with her ‘Cause when she’s gone I know I’ll say REPEAT CHORUS
