Story behind the song
A girlfriend was leaving to NYC to return to Chicago with an hour left to pack. We made a deal to each write a song about our last hour together and the looser bought dinner. The next time I saw her I had a great meal.
Lyrics
Our Last Hour I, I never lived before Like a bird with broken wings I'd watch the sky and dream And I, I never loved before I never felt the sun shine down on me and kiss me. Now I know what we shared in our last hour. And I'll be waiting if you return. God know how my heart was aching in our last hour. Though the tides would take you from my side and not let go, somehow I can't let go. Days, they never seemed so long. All this emptiness in side me babe, it scares me. And I, I want to love again to feel your breath upon my skin would save me. Now I know what we shared in our last hour. And I'll be waiting if you return. God know how my heart was aching in our last hour. Though the tides would take you from my side and not let go, somehow I can't let go. When the world embraced us , together with passion alive, it helped me survive Our dream has now faded I, I want to live again, flying high, soaring with wings that you gave me. Are you listening? Now I know what we shared in our last hour. And I'll be waiting if you return. God know how my heart was aching in our last hour. Though the tides would take you from my side and not let go, somehow I can't let go.
