Story behind the song
One morning I was watching an young eagle, as it was being badgered by some tenacious crows. As I started thinking to myself, sore, sore eagle sore, the young eagle started to rise as he caught the updrafts, the crows pursued; but as the eagle gain hight, the crows started to lag below him. I then watched, as the eagle rose high into the heavens, till it seemed so faint, so to disappear, even with the aid of binoculars.
