Story behind the song

This song was composed in 1970 when I was 18 years old. I was more prone to dark moods back then, like most teenagers. In 2006 I found an ancient tape with this song on it and decided to revisit it. 

Technically, the recording is a disaster. I was shopping for a new microphone at the time, so the vocals were actually recorded on four different mics. 

I also wanted to experiment with using the Cakewalk TTS-1 soft synth for percussion. Consequently, this track is notable in that all the drums are done with the TTS-1, a synth generally regarded as unsuitable for any serious application. But I think it sounds OK.
