Story behind the song
A tale told from a native's standpoint of one of the world's holiday destinations - the irony of how the trade they rely on will ultimately lead to their demise (global warming/air travel, etc). The irony is reflected in the upbeat reggae music against the serious lyrical subject.
Lyrics
They All Told Me (Verse 1) I can't feel the ground beneath my feet, I don't know the people that I meet, They all told me I was wrong; Saw it coming all along, I can't feel the ground beneath my feet (chorus) Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh. (Verse 2) I can't feel the raindrops burn my eyes, I can't see the truth behind the lies, They all told me I was wrong; Saw it coming all along, I can't feel the raindrops burn my eyes. (Rpt chorus) (Bridge) Run, run from the storm, Run, run from the storm. (Verse 3) I can't feel the sunlight warm my soul, River through my veins is running cold, They all told me I was wrong; Saw it coming all along, I can't feel the sunlight warm my soul. Agree with Keith and Steve, what a great high energy track! Really like this and yeah, a bit of 10cc dreads vibe but your own wonderful and cool sound all the way thru (very cool!) mix and vocals exceptional as always! I don’t like reggae, I love it!

You're right Tony, the main instrument you can hear in the background is a Marimba which is a kind of xylophone and some of the other secondary sounds were made by a Kalimba - both were via a Yamaha synth.

Very current, given the major focus in the news at the moment! Nicely handled - serious subject balanced by the upbeat music, a great way to convey the dilemmas & dichotomy facing today's world.

I was over at Davids (major Snagg) and saw you talking about your studio so came over. Found this ditty. Your production is fantastic. Not even sure how you get here. LOL. Excellent vocals and the lyrics tell a compelling story. And now I cant leave Dark Eyes came on.
