Original rock and roll with a healthy amount of jammin' segues and classic covers...
The Baier Cellar Band is: John Baier...electric guitar Kristin Baier...keys and vocals Dave Downing...bass and vocals Craig Kight...drums Dan Noonen...electric guitar and vocals Tom Noonen...acoustic guitar and vocals Born of countless basement music appreciation jam sessions, the Baier Cellar Band formed in the Baier's Cellar in 1989, and grew to its current state of 6 members by the time we played our first gig in public in 2000. We were friends before we played music together, and the music has given us something to bring us together forever...the love of playing our own music.

Story behind the song
I actually wrote this for a friend's band, but they never got around to putting the words to music...so I did... I'm glad they didn't, because I really like the way this turned out...
Lyrics
Excuse me for a moment while I try and understand I'm assuming by your actions it's the way you had this planned With your head up your ass you've got your sites set straight ahead But the position you're in has got you running in circles instead. You booked a 6 mile ride and laid 5 miles of track Selling round trip tickets With no way of getting back And the engineer's sleepin' As the wheels start to roll You hollar "All aboard folks We've got everything under control" (Chorus) Well I ain't gonna ride on your runaway train. I've got 2 good legs And they will sustain me As I walk along the river Searchin' for the sound of Mother nature sayin' "Lay your roots down" Verse 2. I walk along the river and you know I came across A broken down palace Covered with Ivy and moss A more beautiful place I ain't never seen With the whisperin' winds bendin' the grass so green. And a resonance surrounds me as I step inside And I sense the silent echoes Of a time gone by And then suddenly as I begin to look around I hear off in the distance that mournful sound Chorus 2 Of that lonesome whistle on your runaway train How many times do I have to explain I'm gonna walk along the river Searchin' for the sound of Mother nature sayin' "Lay your roots down" Verse 3 Well better ways bring brighter days And brighter days shine on They shine on you Shine on me They keep this whole thing rollin' along And if your days ain't bright It's because you can't see the light And if you hop on board that train It'll take you deep into the night and that's why I Chorus 3... Ain't gonna ride on your runaway train I want to dance out in the sunshine again I want to walk along the river Searchin' for the sound of Mother nature sayin' "Lay your roots down..."
