Andy mentions this: I used my Boss Ovedrive pedal (sd-1) for the lead guitar, it helps create 
 and hold the feedback going so much easier than if I just would've plugged the guitar straight into the amp and turned the volume/distortion up. It's also alot easier to control. This was the first time I ever used that pedal in any recording.
