This is for the angels walking this earth disguised as ordinary people. For all the people in your life that have made a difference even if no one else but you realizes that. It's about telling those people how much they have meant to you and how yo

Singer/Songwriter with a message and a voice to match. From melodic driven ballads to upbeat pop/rock tunes, Maria's music is sure to reach into your heart!!
Maria Calfa-DePaul has been writing songs since she was 15. Music has always been an important part of her life. Her passion was cut short when she developed a cyst on her vocal cords. Maria was unable to sing for 8 years. She became a school teacher but eventually her speaking voice suffered so much that she "sounded like Marge Simpson's sister" In Sept of 05 Maria found a doctor who removed the cyst without damaging her vocal cords; a truly amazing feat! Her singing voice was completely restored and after 6 months of intensive speech therapy with a classical trained singer turned SLP Maria began performing and recording. Her debut CD "Moments of Happiness" is available at cdbaby.com and contains 10 original songs. Her songs speak directly to the heart because that is where they were conceived. Maria is excited to share her thoughts on life, loss love and hope to all who are willing to give some fresh new music a try...continue to believe...continue to dream! www.mcd-music.com

Story behind the song
I was very blessed to have a speech therapist who is also an opera singer come into my life when I needed her the most. She helped me learn to talk and sing again after I had vocal cord surgery in Sept 2005. She encouraged me to pursue my dreams that I had long given up and has been with me every step of the way on my journey to realize them. She did not get the publicity that myself nor my surgeon received so I wanted to let her know how much she has done for me, and how much her presence in my life has meant to me.
Lyrics
We’re The Lucky Ones You may not make the headline news You may not be on T.V. What you do is behind the scenes, A ray of light restoring faded dreams I think I speak for those you’ve reached For the hearts you’ve touched, for those you teach We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones We get to learn from you We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones You give us more then you needed to And I know God sees all the good you do We have been blessed We’re the lucky ones Inspired and moved by you Don’t ever doubt where you should be Place all your faith where it’s meant to be You use your gift with a voice that cares The angels sing; a life’s repaired I think I speak for those you’ve reached For the hearts you’ve touched, for those you teach We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones We get to learn from you We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones You give us more then you needed to And I know God sees all the good you do We have been blessed We’re the lucky ones Inspired and moved by you We don’t often get to say What we feel inside It’s easier to shy away then say what’s on our minds I am just a messenger For all who feel this way Won’t forget what you’ve done for me Not for a single day I think I speak for those you’ve reached For the hearts you’ve touched, for those you teach We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones We get to learn from you We’re the lucky ones, we’re the lucky ones You give us more then you needed to And I know God sees all the good you do We have been blessed We’re the lucky ones Inspired and moved We get to learn Inspired and moved by you Maria T.
