1967 cover of the Roy Orbison hit. This is the flip-side to the Shags first hit 'You're a Loser'.
The Mp3 was created from the original 45 rpm acetate which was good for about 5 playings 40 years ago. Love those pops and cliks.

It has been my pleasure to have jammed, gigged and recorded with many great bands and musicians over the years. This site will represent a sampling of those taped encounters. Be gentle.
Story behind the song
This is the 1967 cover of the Roy Orbison hit. This is the flip-side to the Shags first hit "You're a Loser". When we went down to Don Sears Studio, we decided to show case Larry Schlinse's voice with this song. If you close your your eyes while listening to Larry sing this, you can almost hear the sunglasses. The Shags were Larry Schlines, TommyEarl, Mark (the little brother) Renfro, John (wooden fingers) Primm and Roger (Rocky the flying squirrel) Tryon.
Lyrics
I was alright for a while, I could smile for a while, but when I saw you last night,,,blah, blah, blah
