This is a sort of jazz-reggae blend. This song features a 1921 C melody sax. It is a modern reflection of the classic 'Sixteen Tons.'

Jim-n-Lisa play electronic, acoustic, world/new age, jazz, rock, and other styles; sometimes, all at once.
I'm not going to blow smoke up your nether regions, pretending to be some other person saying how great Jim-n-Lisa are. Originality and high quality productions are important to us. Please judge for yourself. We hope you find something enjoyable. Hi, I'm Jim. This music is created in my computer based studio. I play electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, keyboards, flute, saxes, Wx7 wind controller, electronic drums, and I've been doing some singing of late. The performance/recording technique is improvisational and mostly recorded in real time, one track at a time by me. Lisa sings and creates most of her own vocal melodies and harmony lines. Thanks for listening, - Jim

Story behind the song
In 1946, my dad brought back a C melody sax from WWII. It was in pieces. When I was about 10 years old, we tried to put it together and failed brilliantly. My little brother ended up with the horn and ordered parts to repair it (pads, rods, etc.) He did a good job, but the horn was still not playable. While learning to repair saxes in order to restore my 1945 tenor, I learned enough to complete the job on the C melody. My brother passed away before he could hear it play, but I feel connected to him when I play this horn.
Lyrics
Drink another cup, take another pill, One foot in the grave and you can't stand still, Or they're gonna bury you. Sixteen grams and what do you get? Quite a bit higher, you start to forget, These debts are gonna bury you. Wage slaves work for masters, At the top of the money pile, They sprinkle down upon us, Dirt from their fingernails. They pay us while they prey on us, We're the source of all their glory, We slave away our lives for them, It's the same old story. One foot in front of the other, Pick 'em up and put 'em down, Stay in step, you dare not stumble. One foot in front of the other, Step by step, Pick 'em up and put 'em down.
