Webster’s dictionary defines a “jubilee” as a time of celebration. To be “jubilant” is a means of expressing joy. And, although not found in any dictionary, a “jubilaire” describes the character of one who has and demonstrates the attributes of its root word. In other words, a “Jubilaire” is a person that can be found expressing their joy through celebration. Likewise, it is said that “everything” grows or is big in Texas. Thus, the name, Texas Jubilaires aptly fits the spirit and character of this gospel quartet from San Antonio.
