This song is a metaphor for being depressed because you have lost all hope in all aspects of your life and you feel completely alone in the world.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song when I was very depressed. It only took about a half hour or less to write, and has not changed any since then. It might be the best song I have written thus-far.
Lyrics
Nothing else matters When the light is all gone No place any longer For a moth to be drawn The light bulb it burned out Without it I am lost Searching around forever But forever lost The darkness it penetrates Piercing my soul Slowly getting larger And then devouring me whole The light bulb it burned out Without it I am lost Searching around forever But forever lost Waking up with a tear-stained pillow Again a nightmare... Am I really awake? Because I feel like I'm still not there... The darkness it breaks me It gets in my head Bringing me gloom and sorrow And filling me with dread The light bulb it burned out Without it I am lost Searching around forever But forever lost.
