Song is based on the book "The Great Gatsby" which I'm sure many of you read in high school. Not entirely so don't use it for a book report...

Saved By Smarties. Straight out of Madison Wisconsin!
Right out of Madison Wisconsin, here comes a newly formed band that goes by the name of Saved By Smarites! ROCK ON! Saved By Smarties is a rock band looking for the middle ground between Hard Rock and Punk Rock while adding in humor along with meaning. It must also be added that the band will never have lyrics that go against God. Features Dane on vocals, Sam on guitar, John on guitar, and Ben on bass. AND it looks like the band finnally found the drummer they have been looking for! Under the direction of Sam the band has been practicing and working on their first cd which will be titled "Can You See The Orange". Their first demo of "James Gatz Wasn't That Great" recieved many plays and will be re-recorded for the CD as the first "single". Keep an eye out for Saved By Smarites in the next few months! Story behind the song
Based of the Great Gatsby. It is my way of speaking against materialism. Though I am guilty of it just as everyone is.
Lyrics
James Gatz Wasn’t That Great Verse I’m, I’m on top of the world. No ones going to bring me down today. I, I have symbols of power. And everyone is going to have to do what I say. Out side the city I have a big huge home, Where I leave my prized possessions all alone. Where I throw big parties threw out the summer, where I park my brand new hummer. Chorus So hey! Do you know whom your talking to? Hey! Do you know the things that I could do to you Do you know what I could do? So you better listen up my friend I’ll come by in my Mercedees Benz And I’ll swear you’l never work in this town again. Verse I, I can buy anything in the world. My basement is practically Sharper Image I’ve been marryed twise soon to be 3 times The first two were just but a pre scrimmage scrimage Out side the city I have a big huge home, Where I leave my prized possessions all alone. Where I throw crazy parties threw out the summer, Where there’s the driveway where I park my brand new hummer. chorus So hey! Do you know whom your talking to? Hey! Do you know the things that I could do to you Do you know what I could do? So you better listen up my friend I’ll come by in my Mercedees Benz And I’ll swear you’l never work in this town again. Verse Noone really cares about me. They just hang around me for my stuff They don’t care if I live or die. Love is one thing I don’t see enough. Out side the city where I have a big huge home, Where I leave my prized possessions all alone. Verse repeat I’m, I’m on top of the world. No ones going to bring me down today. I, I have symbols of power. And everyone is going to have to do what I say.
