I came up with the opening riff when I first started playing guitar 10 years ago. Back in those days I was playing once in a while with various friends from school. They thought it was cute riff, but wasn't good for anything except to play over and over. I was sure something could be done with it someday so I put it away.
10 years later I finished it off. Added a few parts to make a the rhythm guitar fit in more complete song structure, drums, and bass.
The lead guitar took a while to do. I wanted something singable/whistleable, so no shredding. I may change it later on (especially that last "verse"), but for now it's finally DONE.
So to those guys who thought nothing would ever be done with that riff, SCREW YOU ALL!
