The lyrics shine hope that a dysfunctional wacko like myself can possibly commit to a monogamous relationship at some point. Musically this version is acoustic, but the song has a good happy bounce with all the rock instruments.

Modern and Retro Rock
Hey, I'm Mike Zute, a multi-faceted musician / entertainer. This site serves the purpose of hosting my audio media, Primarily my original songs: mostly in the style of Modern & Retro Rock. (This site also contains miscellaneous audio as well, such as comedy, and interviews w/ ZuteGirl Models.) Just click "music" on the top area of this page to unfurl this fine audio! Aside from this site, there is more current info at my band's main website: You can also goto is now primarily used to promote the ZUTE cover band, and here is where I'll post info and media regarding original music. My interview and band history on this page might not be current (circa 2005/2006), but I will leave them here til further notice. Here is my list of musical influences which used to be on myspace: -I'll try to list the bands that were most influential in making me want to perform & write music: 60's & 70's Guitar Rock: i.e. Black Sabbath, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Zombies, Jethro Tull, Rush, Kiss;; Classic Folk / Country: Johnny Cash, John Denver, Jim Croce;; Old School Punk: Bad Religion, The Descendents, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Suicidal Tendencies;; 80's Metal: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Whitesnake, Motley Crue;; 80's Alternative: Devo, Talking Heads, Smithereens;; 90's Alternative: Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, N.I.N., Rage/Machine, Sublime, Presidents of USA;; 90?s Pop Punk: Green Day, Dramarama, Blink 182, The Offspring, Weezer;; 90?s Metal: Korn, Clutch, Helmet, Godsmack, System of a Down;; etc. I have a million other influences, but this gives you an idea. There is no way that one of my tunes can reflect all of these bands. -Sometimes the Non-conformist, defiant attitude and lyrics of some of these artists is a bigger influence than their music, and visa-versa. (Some have hit me more with the music than the lyrics/ attitude.)

Story behind the song
Song is about the “ideal but imaginary girlfriend” that hasn't quite surfaced yet.
Lyrics
(verse 1) I thought my only friend was me forever- So sore. Lower than whale-shit on the deepest ocean floor. But you had an honesty I never knew. So many bitches lied but you were true. (chorus) You saved me from the depths of sorrow. You resurrect a new tomorrow. You, Ya make me high. What you have done for me, I feel, cause it’s so real. Yeah, it’s so. (verse 2) I lived in my own world of isolation. So when I needed time you had the patience. After that other guy, you’re all black & blue. That bastard battered you, which I will not do. (bridge) All I think is you. (verse 3) Well it really was confusin’ cause I thought you I was losin’. But you soon became the maker of a huge sky-scraper. Took a lot of power raisin’ up the twin towers, But the Empire State - only started as a slate. Well I’ll say with no remorse girl ya get me up of course Statue of Liberty you’re holding up a torch. Soon I’m gonna see ya, I’m really lookin forward, Ya know it’s more than f#*king cause you know I really love-
