A delicate, piano based rumination on this wonderful, fleeting thing we call Life. Featuring the highest falsetto I've ever been able to perform!

Hello, I am the band! I'm a singer-songwriter and I'm a bit of a control freak, hence I do everything myself - playing the intruments, writing the lyrics, singing, recording, you name it! I recorded the latest of these songs on my PC but the older ones were recorded on a 4 track tape recorder (I'm planning to re-record some of them with the new improved technology - if only I can find the time!) UPDATE: New batch of songs added in June 2006

Story behind the song
I woke up at 2am with this tune going 'round my head and started to quickly write down some words that matched the mood of the melody. In the morning when I woke, the tune was still buzzing around and I wrote the remaining lyrics as the birds sang outside. The song is about Life (hence the title) and how it's such a beautiful, fragile thing that we sometimes can take for granted.
Lyrics
Wake, in the early morning sun, Breathe, the day has only just begun, And it makes me feel so glad to be around, As the world turns endlessly without a sound. Feel, the summer breeze upon your face, See, there’s beauty found in every place, Though the time we have to live is gone so soon, Underneath the impassive face of an ancient moon. Empires rise and fall then vanish into dust, Wonders are built by men but soon enough they rust. Hear, the ocean wash up on the shore, Touch, the soft warm sand upon the floor, And the world will still be here when you’re gone, In the midst of death life will carry on. © 2004 Andy Jones
