totally written and mixed with the intent of doing a song in the style of Gary Numan (circa '81, his 'Dance' period - think 'she's got claws' as opposed to anything prior)
synthpop gary numan eighties schneider
some people get by with a little understanding, some people get by with a whole lot more..
Think back to when Bon Scott played his last gig with AC/DC (it’s actually this day 27.01) back in 1980 before he would succumb to an untimely death due to misadventure and remember how the world seemed less complicated and more focussed on serious issues as opposed to Tik Tok or Instagram and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools. Michael Keaton in a scene from 'Birdman' is here due to his brilliant acting abilities as well - his brilliant turn in Ron Howard's 'Night Shift' showed the world what they could expect from this gifted actor...we're all getting older with every day...we got memories but they fade just like pictures in an album so live for today and make that count as it's really the only thing anyone has...Coldplay is on in the background on our smart TV sound bar...when did the stereo disappear...it's 'the scientist' and man, that's a sad song...lol! ...both of me, one when the twin towers were still standing, NYC harbour and one different kinda self portrait Galleries Lafayette, Paris can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll...

Story behind the song
we're both mad Numan fans and have always admired his musicality and ability to have (for a very brief period) set the world on fire with 'friends' and 'cars' - I saw him as a kid at Festival Hall in 1980 and he tore the roof off that place...
Lyrics
You don’t know me You don’t see me You don’t light up the room You can’t hear me You can’t touch me We don’t live by the same rule You don’t want me I don’t need it We don’t suffer the same fools Oh oh oh oh ah Ohhhhh And if you say that you needed me, then Just say...might as well take it And if you cut me do I bleed, do I? I change all the time...somethin’ just like a test But I dunno, I’m sometime naïve with you You don’t want me I don’t want it Just don’t think it’s the same You don’t get it You don’t need it The same thing’s comin’ your way babe Oh oh oh oh ah Ohhhhh You don’t know me You don’t see me You don’t light up the room You can’t hear me You can’t touch me We don’t live by the same rule Oh oh oh oh ah Ohhhhh You don’t want me I don’t need it, need it, need it We don’t suffer the same fool And if you cut me do I bleed, do I bleed, do I bleed I dunno, I’m sometime naïve with you

Interesting song here, Greg. You nailed that 80s synth groove. What's not to like...great mix too mate!

Cracking groove lead tune Greg. Can hear the Gary Numan influence all the way through this. As soon as I hear the first few bars I said to myself ‘oh yeah’. Super stuff.
