Story behind the song
Ode to the old
Lyrics
Well, I've been on this earth for a while now. So here I am about to tell you how I know the winter turns into spring And old sinners they keep on worshiping And I know those storms they always pass like the sunrise's, the sunsets None of these really matter anymore If you don't know what you're living for When the end becomes your friend you don't feel a thing Sympathy's don't pull on heartstrings That day will come, you won't belong in that land You the stranger, to not remember, you were a man Usually, it only hurts when I laugh It's so damn hard to understand What time has done to me is wrong Its time for me to travel on They took off my shoes, shirt, and pants Laid me flat, I can't go back The morphine it ran cold through my veins With my last goodbye to everything My last goodbye My last goodbye

The song lyrics here are so true. Sign of a good song when it is relatable to the human condition. Excellent music and effects to carry along this message. Strong writing.

This beautiful song resonates so much with me . I’m 69 years old and in the last 5 years I’ve seen family members much younger than me pass and I got quite emotional listening to beautiful gentle voice telling how us oldies feel . It’s so true . Thanks for this beautiful heartfelt song . 🙏
