A lively sixties Pop song. Originally released in 1963 by The Shadows ... yes, they did vocal songs too. This is probably their best one. I came across it quite by accident recently and thought it deserved to be heard again.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
This is a pretty short but very lively Pop song by The Shadows. Yes, they were more well known for instrumentals, but they were quite capable as a straight ahead guitar pop group. There's an almost 'Merseybeat', vibe to this one. Great fun to play. I've opted to not copy Hanks signature guitar sound here, instead I've gone a touch more modern with my guitar solo. I played my Yamaha Revstar RS 420 on this recording.
Lyrics
I Want You To Want Me (Hank Marvin (c) 1963 Anytime you're feeling low And you've got no place to go Come round to my house and I'll be there To take away your worries, take away your cares But you know, you know, you know I want you to want me. Anytime you're feeling blue, you can see what I can do Give me the chance to show you I care And take away your sorrows, give a lot to share 'Cos you know, you know, you know I want you to want me. Loving you is what I think of thru' the night and day Wanting you is my obsession only you can show me the way. Anytime you're feeling low And you've got no place to go Come round to my house and I'll be there To take away your worries, take away your cares But you know, you know, you know I want you to want me. instrumental break ... guitar solo Loving you is what I think of thru' the night and day Wanting you is my obsession only you can show me the way. Anytime you're feeling blue, you can see what I can do Give me the chance to show you I care To take away your sorrows, give a lot to share 'Cos you know, you know, you know I want you to want me You know, you know I want you to want me You know, you know I want you to want me outro and ad-lib guitar noodling :)

I remember this one well. You did a great cover. Jangly guitars and I so like your solo tone quite fine.

I can’t remember this one ! Probably because the shads doing a vocal sing was very rare . Great guitar and catchy tune . Production sounds great ! Nice one David !

Excellent recording here. I must say it’s not one I’ve heard of before. Very cool guitar break and that busy bass line is great!
