DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Lyrics
From the Well of Salvation In a dry and weary land Devoid of water I was drifting aimlessly Hopeless, tired and lost In this place of emptiness Jesus found me I heard Him call my name And this is what He said When your heart When your heart When your heart grows weary And your soul has dried up within Come unto Come unto Come unto the fountain Draw water from the well Draw water from the well Of God's salvation Draw water from the well Of God's salvation Your my fortress, Rock and Refuge Shelter from the storm I will trust You on this journey And ever sing your song In the day In the day In the day of trouble I will hear the voice of Jesus say Come unto the fountain The eternal spring of life Draw living water from the well that won't run dry Come unto the fountain The eternal spring of life Draw living water from the well the well of salvation
