Story behind the song
On November 12, a walking excursion of our research group was held. Prof. Hudgins and Prof. Silveston took us to Schneider family’s property open to public for walking and cross-country skiing. I enjoyed the walking although the weather was cold, windy and cloudy. Vivid yellow of tamarack leaves was impressive. Sometimes, cold wind blew and made the leaves fall down just like yellow snow. While on November 14, another fun was a singing party in Prof. Hudgins’ house. I learned many Canadian folksongs. I chose The Huron Carol from the variety of the songs for the suite because I was impressed not only by its pretty tune but also by the sad story behind it. I made arrangements in march, jig and reel. This whole piece was dedicated to Prof. Hudgins.

Thanks, Bob! I’ve tried this kind of Irish/Scottish trad in the piece “Highland Riding….” in the album “Precious Times”, but I have felt it has not been perfect for me. That’s why I made this one. I think it was improved more than the first trial!

Nice build up throughout the intro - great sitar soloing and rhythmic triplicates - cool change into a polka, does add that "Rock" feeling - reminded me a little of Styx here. Bravo!
