Story behind the song
The Heart Chakra Part 1 song was composed and recorded in 1992, while living in New Orleans. The healing power of this musical offering was realized when a young woman telephoned me emotionally distraught and at her wits end. She had just broken up with her boyfriend of many years and was in deep pain unable to release her sorrow through crying.
Having some experience as an intuitive healer (hands on and musically), I suggested she come by for a healing session using the Heart Chakra recording.
The instructions were simple, focusing on breathing deeply in and exhaling. Depending on each person’s ability to perceive what was required, the instructions were tailored to accommodate their level of comprehension. She had never meditated nor taken yoga before. But she trusted me, allowing me to guide her through the deep breathing segment before using the sound recording. Once she was relaxed, the musical note ’F’ was given to her to ohm on the out-breath. After 20 breaths I instructed her to continue ohming while the Heart Chakra recording played. Focusing on what it feels like to be deeply and unconditionally loved on the in-breath and exhaling/releasing all worries, sorrows and pain on the out-breath. I gave her privacy and left her alone in the room.
When the music had stopped, she opened the door and announced that she felt lighter and was able to cry. The recording is more than 10 minutes long. The entire session lasted approximately 20 minutes.
