The words to this song were buzzing around my head during the night. Fortunately the fully formed lyrics jumped straight out of the end of my pen and onto the page as soon as I woke up.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
A song about our fading dreams of a bright shiny future...a future that never was... We all once dreamed of a retro modern future. Does this mean that I'll never get to fly about on a personal Jet-pack?...I guess so.
Lyrics
Retro-Metro (David A Briggs) c 2021 We once lived far in the future but let's not talk of that Retro- Metro, you can let it all go, the concrete, steel and glass. Dark still waters, what have you taught us, we're swimming against the stream. Looking for a way back, I'll be alright Jack, I'm kind of loving this dream. Were all on the road to ruin, as for help, (well), there's nothin' doin' Look at those storm clouds in the distance none of us have got any kind of resistance I can see the faded road-signs, of colourised design. they're all 'Googie', so let's boogie do the Saint Vitas dance. Take your partners, ye pilgrim fathers you laughing and grinning fools. it's no wonder, I can hear thunder , you're breaking all the rules. We're all on the road to ruin, as for help, (well), there's nothin' doin' Look at those storm clouds in the distance none of us have got any kind of resistance 1st Guitar solo It's a long game, that's the real shame so don't you trip and fall. We'll survive this small disaster, weather out the storm. In The Room of Pointless Memoirs the future days are past. Retro-Metro, we must let it all go, the concrete steel and glass We're all on the road to ruin, as for help, (well), there's nothin' doin' Look at those storm clouds in the distance none of us have got any kind of resistance 2nd. Guitar solo We once lived far in the future but let's not talk of that Retro- Metro, you can let it all go, the concrete, steel and glass. Dark still waters, what have you taught us, we're swimming against the stream. Looking for a way back, I'll be alright Jack, I'm kind of loving this dream. instrumental leading to fade-out

Great job on the lyrics, I hear some 80's elements in this one. Very catchy and radio-ready.
