christmas christs birth
Gospel/Christian Bible-based songs
Music has always been a special joy to me. While still a child I enjoyed classical guitar and piano lessons. While growing up I had opportunity to play for our church youth group. More recently I have begun to write songs. They vary widely in style and are not confined to any one genre. My goal is to please the One who is the song-giver; to honour Him in all I write and play. It is my sincere desire that the Lord uses the music I write to draw people closer to Himself. Wherever you are at in relationship to God, may this music touch your heart and be a blessing to you.

Story behind the song
The melody was written first (i.e. before the words) and the tune just sounded like it should be a Christmas hymn. And so it is.
Lyrics
Verse 1 Friends and family gather and fill the house with laughter ‘Round the fire glowing tell of love ever flowing. Share the Christmas story about the Lord of Glory Celebrate His lowly birth; how He came down to this earth. Chorus Christ the Lord is born, Tell it on this morn. Worship and adore your King; Glory in the highest! Verse 2 Joseph and his wife, Mary suffered very shamefully Of Joseph they would speak with guile When Mary was with child. People did not understand that this was part of God’s’ good plan Mary was a virgin; her child is God’s very kin. Verse 3 Shepherds watching flocks at night suddenly saw a heavenly light An angel said, “Don’t be afraid, your Saviour’s in a manger laid.” Said the shepherds, “We must go and see if this is really so.” To their delight they found it true; they shared with everyone the news. Verse 4 Wise men came from very far, they saw a brand new rising star Following the starry light, they travelled all throughout the night. It led them to a manger, there they approached as strangers They gave Him incense, gold and myrrh, precious gifts they offered. Verse 5 Sing and make a joyful sound, come and worship and bow down. He who in the manger lay is Jesus Christ the Lord today. God Himself became a man so we could better understand God’s love for us so very great and that is why we celebrate. Bridge Hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
