And the "DFX" steam train keeps laying down the tracks, as I hammer into submission the Peter Gabriel classic!!
Instrumental Guitar Rock/Pop with a TWIST!! Plus some warped experimental Avant Garde side excursions for the musically adventurous!
Instrumental Guitar Rock/Pop with a "Twist"!
Story behind the song
Conceived March 2002. This is Take 2 Mix 1 Recorded March 2002 Yamaha PSR-85 & Sony DTC-700
Taking on the Peter Gabriel classic & giving it the "DFX" treatment....
...AND despite what it MAY sound like, I am NOT.....
....I repeat...
...NOT sampling the original recording of it what-so-ever!
The base instrumentation's are actually coming from a preset accompaniment style bank on my Yamaha Keyboard, believe it or not!!
I guess Yamaha was able to license it or something!!
Probably, from my guess, there's enough of a subtle difference in the rhythm & bass line to make it a "fair use" thing, but still...... it's pretty f***ing CLOSE!
At any rate, I then layered a ton of "I wanna be your sledgehammer"'s, then proceeded on to some discordant piano plunking & brass ensemble bleating, some left/right muted guitar rakes, then the non-delay loop sledgehammering guitar solo.
Then I started reinforcing the beat with some kick, snare etc from my Roland drum machine, before commencing the "Full Tilt Chaos" section with more piano pounding, brass bashing & the usual ascending stuff capped off with some maniacal laughter & screaming!!
Lyrics
(all lines repeated ad infinite)
I wanna be....your sledgehammer......
