Story behind the song
Conceived February 2003. This is Take 1 Mix 1 Recorded February 2003 Sony DTC-700 No, this isn't 'Gilligan' dropping them, this is me making Harry Nilsson roll over in his grave with a total nonsensical 'DFX' rendition of the song. Starts with standard repeating drum machine pattern of vibes, congas, bongos & the like; then a few layers of electric piano; then QUITE a few layers of various guitar "C7th" chords Then I put the lime in the coconut, oh....about a GAZILLION times (give or take), with probably a mis-remembered line, as I THINK the line is "...you drink them both up....", though it sounds like I'm saying "BOWL" instead of "BOTH"!! Then I cut to a non delay loop voice over with the "Doctor.....is there nothing I can take, etc...." line,(QUITE BADLY I may add!). Eventually we get to the non delay loop guitar solo as usual, & of course the grand finale of ascending chaotic instrumentation, & the final line about.....coconuts... ....going.... ..somewhere......!! :-o :-o (No, 'Gilligan' STILL isn't dropping them!!) ;)
Lyrics
(all lines repeated ad infinite except where noted * Lime in the coconut you drink them both up *I said 'Doctor' is there nothing I can take? I said,'Doctor' to relieve this belly ache? I said 'Doctor' Waa waaaaa......!* *Making Harry Nilsson roll over in his grave....* CRAM THESE COCONUTS UP YOUR ASS.....!!
