Story behind the song
It's estimated that the over 800 recorded songs written by the husband and wife songwriting team of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant to date have sold more than a half-billion records worldwide. Best known for having written many of the Everly Brothers' early pop hits, the Bryants began their songwriting partnership in the early 1950's composing songs for country artists including "Little"Jimmy Dickens, Carl Smith and Eddy Arnold. Raining in My Heart was written in 1958 and released in 1959, This recording was included on Buddy Holly's first "greatest hits" compilation album titled The Buddy Holly Story that was released in March 1959.

Nicely covered Felice & Boudleaux Bryant Pop classic from 1959, right up there with the many artists who also covered this tune, Buddy Holly, Skeeter Davis, Connie Francis and Leo Sayer to name just a few, really takes me back to the old 45 record player days ;)
