Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Lyrics
Maybe we were nothing more Than two bits of driftwood Tossed up on the same shore Hell I didn't like you and you didn't like me It was just the dumbest thing That there could ever be They say that opposites attract Perhaps each of us had something The other lacked And this was the summer of 79 We were all convinced This was our defining time And you wore feathers in your hair And we drank Freixenet Like we didn't have a care And I played punk rock lead guitar And we hung out like we were already stars Already stars Well it didn't work out somehow But I often think about Where you could be now We were in too deep to count the cost Led astray by love But then the love got lost Maybe we'll meet again one day In some beach cafe Like we did that day Just to raise a glass and smile For the times that you and I Let drift way And then once again we'll drift our separate ways

I think I would have brought up the levels on your masterful vocals just a bit Steve but what can I say - just masterful music and production - awesome!

Wow! A real nice tune all around! Jangly and catchy!
A perfect example of how a bass line has the final decision on the feel and mood of whatever the guitars are playing. Brilliant. Oh, and the song kicks ass too.

Excellent writing and performance. A very vivid story that everyone can relate to - a little insight into a chapter that has got lost over the years. Definite hit material. You have truly marketable material...there's a "Tin Pan Alley" competition for songwriters that you really should enter (there's nothing to lose!): https://www.tinpanalley.biz/
