yep me and jimmy in junior high at Foster a Begg junior high riding our sting rays in Manhattan beach in 1966 and the old brown money house on Redondo avenue never will forget that one.

time was my school had enforced precision marching. time was we lived by the sea. time was my mother would kiss me and say it was going to be alright. that was in ago time way back when! the cars had fins and three tons of chrome. the police were helpfull and working hard. the beat niks in the espresso bars discussing life picket fences, blond haired wifes carving up turkey's with electric knife's. the bikes had banana seats with sissy bars and a maltese cross. this was what it was, way back in ago time. way back in ago time when zody's had nickle packs of gum. we lived by the beach at the bottom of the hill on tenth street four streets down on redondo avenue was a old brown house who ever had lived there was gone a long time ago. the weather had rotted the bottom of the back door jimmy howton but nathan was his name found it first. he said come with me i found a money house! we snuck around and slipped through the hole in the door. hundreds of boxes piled from roof to floor. each one we opened revealed a find. silver dollars and gold rings by the pocket full. we filled our pockets with silver dollars and old coins. went on a spending spree that lasted two whole days plastic models of cars and planes burgers at the foster freeze. trips to zodies for candy and clothes shuh it's a secret not me i won't tell the next day after school we went back to get some more there was every boy from foster begg junior high school and some big folks we never knew they were breaking down the doors and throwing stuff around boxes in the street a riot had begun people were fighting over the stuff they found. then the fun all stopped when some body yelled look out he's got a gun me jimmy and mike decided it was time to leave right when we saw the cops coming down the street. never heard anything about who owned the house or who had the gun. but way back in ago time we sure had some fun. time was my school had enforced precision marching. time was we lived by the sea. time was my mother would kiss me and say it was going to be alright.
