how did I miss this one. very cool. a creative rendition of a classic, giving it new life. love the arrangement, the production is ace. most of all the vocals made for a fun listen.

I've heard a lot of versions that sound very similar to the Carpenters, but you have taken this song and made it your own with an amazing and highly creative interpretation. I think I like this version way better than the original! Superb vocals and the music production is first class.

Way out of the box cover of a classic tune. You guys have really dug into your creative resevoirs for this one. Almost psychedelic. It's like the soundtrack from a dream.

I like the sound of the vocals here. Did you use a telephone filter here?
That sound, together with the use of the organ, makes me feel like flying to the 60's. You could think as well of a transistor radio in the open air.
Very creative and surprising. I think "Close To You" has been covered very often, I know the version of the Carpenters. Who did the original?

Nice to hear this one again! Very good personal touch by Irene with that awesome and fast vibrato she master so well.

This is a great rendition of one of my most favourite classics. Irene sounds great on this and she made it her own which gives it a fresh sound more original. The music is very well done, congrats to all involved on this, love it!

Wow what a sound. It must be hard not to just reproduce the Carpenters, but you guys made your own distinctive version and it's fantastic. Irene's vocal is pure magic, and you really worked well together to give this a jazzy rhythm and joyful excitement that the Carpenters lacked - this is much better!

Stunning mix and production expressions with this iconic timeless song. I’m really impressed with how you and Irene are able to transform these classics into something even more magical. I love the vocal effects throughout. The backing vocals are excellent; perfectly balanced and mix. (Do I hear an organ in the track? Nice!) Like Spin said, this is another #1 coming for sure. You guys are pure magic together.

One of my really loved song from Mr. Bacharach....sweet and still a lovely song to be listend to!!
Marvelous vocal effect (filtering), is giving me the real feel of the past time, perfect idea...Irene voice always so heartfelt and sensual, expressing so fine the lyrics and the melody. Superb in the coloration Irene´s background vocals too.
Stupend arrangement, high quality track Rod!! Another #1 for sure in your collection of supreme tracks!!

Good to hear Rod and Irene in another cover collab! And this Burt Bacharach and Hal David song is a definite classic that fits you 2 well. Bravo once again!
This is a real treasure. I like the change in the style. Very hard to beat Karen carpenter And with the way you put it together you have made it a very unique excellent listen. Kudos to both of you.
