DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Desert Rap I'm not here to entertain take your money or play the fool eating locusts and wild honey got a dress sense rather cool I'm not eaasy to get on with find it hard to socialise I've been pretty much a loner ever since I was a child Repent for the kingdom of God has drawn near Repent the day of reckoning is here Colourful and vivid is the language i often use not afraid to speak my mind with words like 'viper brood' as to my identity by now you should have guessed I'm the desert dwelling cousin of that man from Nazareth Repent for the kingdom of God has drawn near Repent the day of reckoning is here If you dare to speak the truth with words that strike a chord you could find your head served up upon a platter board Repent for the kingdom of God has drawn near Repent the day of reckoning is here Repent
