Retired military solo artist; Tex/Americana/Folk singer/songwriter. 'Scratch' is my military handle and TexScratch a stage name just for the purpose of having a stage name, I suppose... Let's Talk Guild (LTG) guitar forum friends inspired many tunes and the inclination to purchase far too many Guild Guitars over the years...

Story behind the song
Post traumatic Stress Disorder became a term associated first with Vietnam Veterans. The disorder is now recognized as a 'disease' common among anyone who has experienced trauma. I would submit that few traumas equal combat and losing close friends on far-away battlefields.
Lyrics
A Bridge Too Far© Ken Smith (07/30/2013) A Song of PTSD No mercy from the rain this Sunday morning; 12th & main in a Budget rental car Reckless turns on this road he travels; Lead to the Sundown Shadow Bar Just beyond a bridge too far Home is where the heart is so they tell me; Heaven waits beyond the darkest star Once upon a time, a young man lost his way; Seeking answers where no answers are Beyond a bridge too far Disclosure now awaits him on the other side; River rising slowly, raging deep and wide He knows once he crosses, He'll not find a way back home again Harmonica interlude Muddy waters sparkle in a sunless western sky; Deep within an unseen battle scar Coming home ain't easy; friends gone far away; They call his name from the Sundown Shadow Bar Just beyond the bridge too far Turn around this car Don't cross the bridge too far
