Story behind the song
Have we sold our country?
Lyrics
You shouldnt have to live your life with a lie You shouldnt have to make the one you love cry You shouldnt have to lose all you hold dear You shouldnt have to live in a world full of fear IN the land of the free Power and Justice Is bartered and sold Like sliver diamonds and gold WHat of these laws they make us obey The poor give their blood the rich never pay William Zantzinger Kattie Harroll and the cane And it flies through the air and kills once again. IN the land of the free Power and Justice Is bartered and sold Like silver diamnonds and gold And what of this Dream they sold all to you Has it put you to sleep or can u see through The smokey cloud on the grassy knoll still rings And a brother goes down along with a king.

Gentlemen, Excellent collaboration. FUnny someone mentioned wood stock and I was thinking that too. Classic protest lyrics Roger. You are a timeless poet. Nice work.
Roger and Jon, This is GREAT! Straignt out of Woodstock and other memorable Folk/Rock concerts. You both make a wonderful duo and should do more collabs in this similar genre/message...

I especially like the lyrics in this piece. The vocals sound almost scary and really sincere - very powerful message. The strangely scattered percussion adds to the spooky atmosphere. It makes me think of film music, made for a black and white political movie :)

Howdy RJ and DJ, Best to you both and the best from both of you is a treat!!!! The description of the turning point and it's ideals are certainly captured here, taking place with Ike's farewell and Kennedy's speech to a President being felled and the introduction of the Illuminati, for lack of a better term. Then with MLK and RK, really just being mopped up by the all seeing eye!!!! Truth in your words, as always RJ!!!!! Loved the intro, the harmonica, the melody and your work with DJ in this.......Right On Brother!!!!! With respect, Wade
