A new song with a nice Rickenbacker bass growl and lots of other inter-playing guitar textures. It also features a (hopefully) catchy singalong chorus. A song about . . . fate, ambition, regret etc . . .

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Lyrics
Got to Escape (Quiet Neighbourhood) (David A Briggs) 2013. Quiet neighbourhood, clean gravel drives, Respectable people, well ordered lives . . . Leafy wet avenues, drip suburban cool, Still dark waters, dont suffer fools . . . Got to escape, dont leave it all too late, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait, . . . Got to escape, dont leave it all to fate, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait. In teenage bedroom, lives rebellious youth, Plays loud Rock Music, searching for some truth . . . Dreams of rock band, wholl conquer the world, Hell play a big red guitar, and get all the girls . . . Got to escape, dont leave it all too late, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait, . . . Got to escape, dont leave it all to fate, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait. Life is such a thrill . . . the leaves blew up the hill, Just for a moment, the time stood still . . . Life is such a thrill, yeah, life is such a thrill, Live for the moment, we havent time to kill. solo Life is such a thrill . . . the leaves blew up the hill, Just for a moment, the time stood still . . . Life is such a thrill, yeah, life is such a thrill, Live for the moment, we havent time to kill. Its hard to escape from a . . .World so serene, but hed always look back on . . . what might have been. Still-life goes on . . . in city or town, youve got to live life now, theres . . . no next time around solo Got to escape, dont leave it all too late, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait, . . . Got to escape, dont leave it all to fate, Keep looking forward, tomorrow just wont wait. . . . . .repeat chorus x 1

What a good song! Super crisp production and I'm so jealous of that Ricky tone it's wonderful. You've got the vocal just right here and the lyric is great too - paints a vivid picture and captures the sentiments perfectly. Nice work indeed!

I noted you visited my Soundclick page before. It turns out I have been inactive for a long time, but I want to thank you. So I wanted to see your music and I am not disappointed at all. I love the guitar textures in this tune. And yes, I think the bass sound is awesome. I will listen some more.

Signature brilliance, great return to the stirrings of youth. The Rick growls it's way through while the Parker counter-attacks, both instruments cut through the mix flawlessly. Dynamite vox as always. Love the arrangement and sing-along nature of the chorus, sticks with the listener far beyond the initial listen. Bravo!

Great song about rebellious youth escaping the confines of "middle England". The irony seems to be that if you look around leafy suburbia, the rebels of yesteryear are now the new middle England and the establishment - fate seems to have its own agenda. Love the guitar sounds and the clarity of the vocals. Very lyrical song that we can all relate to - a bit like being able to look through walls into people's lives. Excellent production.

Pretty cool ballad, and pop anthem of the youthful days when we were all invulnerable ;)
