Defiantly some fine heart felt Americana. This strikes a chord within everyone. A great array of instruments mixed to perfection creating a very atmospheric and soulful song. A real nice listen that stays in your head! Great song!

Great song, Charlie. A true classic with everything in it's right place. The instruments fit the song perfectly and the vocals sound great. For a song about death, this song has a lot of life :) Really well done, Charlie. great songwriting!

That mountain dulcimer sounds great, especially with the banjo and fiddle. Bittersweet song, pure class and talent.

Very atmospheric track. Great vocals and harmonies. I like the choice of instruments, they compliment each other perfectly. The song has a soulfulness about it and the vibe stays with you long after you've listened to it.

Man I.don't know how I missed this one, I saw all the comments and thought this must be something special,and indeed it is and then some,the dulcimer and fiddle combination is killer,the song is evocative Americana at it's most potent,written and performed by a man with the soul of the mountains,rivers and forests permeating his very being. Stunning.

Wow, I just love the sound of that Mountain dulcimer. Really nice and well written song. Great vocals and lyrics. The banjo riff ( If i may call it that) is really cool and sounds great too. Excellent work!

"Windy Ridge" is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, great musician and friend, Charlie! Your mix of country instruments from dulcimer to guit to banjo to fiddle to your always great vocal/harmonies is perfect. Small wonder that this touching song has done so well on the SC Country Americana Charts; and also the tune has had the highest of praise from your music colleagues (5 Stars on everything). There is not much "new" which I can add that others have not already said - but I wish to emphasize how very special are your lyrics - and how well you so clearly sing the words (rare in today's world of often "mumbled" words with music). Awesome song Charlie - it takes some real skill to write like this - to get such power and emotion from such pure simplicity. Very atmospheric with a true feel of the mountain landscape. Perfect production, fantastic vocal and harmonies, and that dulcimer is amazing. Great stuff!

I think this is the best song I have heard on soundclick. By far my favorite of the year. If this song got in the right hands it would turn gold. If I were you I would put it up on You tube.. i am just saying....
