Story behind the song
Arranged with Magix Music Maker16 content Excerpts from "The Fountains of Paradise", by Arthur C. Clarke. Published by Ballantine in 1978 "If the laws of celestial mechanics make it possible for an object to stay fixed in the sky, might it not be possible to lower a cable down to the surface and so to establish an elevator system linking Earth to space? "There was nothing wrong with the theory, but the practical problems were enormous. Calculations showed that no existing materials would be strong enough; the finest steel would snap under its own weight long before it could span the thirty-six thousand kilometres between Earth and synchronous orbit. "However, even though the best steels were nowhere near the theoretical limits of strength. On a microscopic scale, materials had been created in the laboratory with far greater breaking strength. If they could be mass-produced, Artsutanov's dream could become reality, and the economics of space transportation would be utterly transformed. "Before the end of the twentieth century, super-strength materials hyperfilaments had begun to emerge from the laboratory. But they were extremely expensive, costing many times their weight in gold. Millions of tons would be needed to build a system that could carry all Earth's outbound traffic; so the dream remained a dream. Until a few months ago. Now the deep-space factories can manufacture virtually unlimited quantities of hyperfilament. At last we can build the Space Elevator or the Orbital Tower, as I prefer to call it. For in a sense it is a tower, rising clear through the atmosphere, and far, far beyond Arthur C. Clarke - 16 December 1917 19 March 2008. Footnote; New Scientist magazine 5 Oct. 2010 Two University of Manchester scientists were awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in physics Tuesday for their pioneering research on graphene, a one-atom-thick film of carbon whose strength, flexibility and electrical conductivity have opened up new horizons for pure physics research as well as high-tech applications. Nobel winner Andre Geim said in New Scientist. Graphene is stronger and stiffer than diamond, yet can be stretched by a quarter of its length, like rubber. Its surface area is the largest known for its weight. The future awaits.

There is amazingly real atmosphere of symphonic performance here! Both arrangement and sound are perfect! Can't get how did you manage such a sophisticated texture in such a genuine manner... I may add that the music is very melodic and beautiful - some kind of appeal to Heaven. Love it a lot! ...So yes, this is a masterpiece.

Wow MD. Only one word for this - EPIC! Absolutely stunning piece. Another deep and dense production from you that needs many listens to absorb everything. Fantastic and one to keep.
Michael, this is excellent classical music - your description says "calming" - I would add "elevating" as well - SERIOUSLY (although there must be some pun here also). By the time I would get to the top of this tall building, I would pinch myself to see if I had not passed on to the highest level way above - NOW THAT'S ELEVATOR MUSIC! Your expert musicianship shines throughout this song. Thank you for the download of this memorable music.

Feel i'm going up to the space indeed. Exquisite blend of instruments and layers. A crescendo of voice, brass, and orchestra back, driven by such fantastic rolling snare. Dramatic change at 2:30, turning it all into an epic journey. Brilliant !
