Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
Created for the CBC "Elevator Music" challenge, Oct 2011. If you'd asked me, I would have said that this type of music was definitely not my cup of tea. But then that's what a challenge is - this certainly challenged my preconceptions and I ended up having a lot of fun with it. To fully get this you have to listen to the tune it was based on - called "Am I Missing Something" (on my music page). You wouldn't want that bad boy playing in your lift I guarantee.

Excellent track, beautiful vibes, great arrangement.
Great song, Seth! The vibes/vibes with the beat of mixed elevations is truly outstanding. And your guitar work carries the entire song into memorable jazz mode for me, and gives solid musical reason to always take the stairs. The dl of this tune is greatly appreciated!

There's something very mischievous about this track, it has that kinda vibe! Great atmosphere and very smooth - excellent stuff.

Dig those vibes man. This is way cool, with shades on ! :) The spirit of Miles Davis lives in this track. Can you record an alternative version with more muted trumpet ? (like Miles).
