Part 2 to the legendary concept show ENCORE!
Story behind the song
Picking up where ENCORE! left off, this is the continuation of the GDH3 Percussion show concept. It starts with the mash up ballad of "On the Nature of Daylight" by Max Richter, and "Who Knows Who Cares" by Local Natives. After a rocking jam session by the full ensemble, the closer kicks off with Regina Spektor's "Us." The sections pass visual and musical statements during this chunk, and then the song fades down to a drum roll...
...defibrillation into Dr. Dre's "I Need a Doctor." Featuring Gabe's masterful tenor music, the whole crowd will be drawn to chanting "bring me back to life" in the last words of our show. At 1:30, we leave this world and begin the journey into the unknown. (Yes: "Close to the Edge").
