Fans of Beatles, Badfinger, Fogelberg, Moody Blues, Raspberries and other Retro Classic rock.
I am a fan of the Beatles, Fogelberg, Raspberries, Badfinger, Moody Blues, solo Beatles, Eagles. Any music that has solid vocals, good harmonies and a hook!
I also am developing a fascination with old jazz standards. I am self taught on everything I play which explains my limitations. LOL! Up until a few years ago I was all accoustic all the time and did very little recording on an old 4 trak. I had written a lot of songs over the years on my accoustic most of those are not here as I started using the computer to record and wanting a more electric sound so out came an electric guitar, then I wanted a beat so the cheap drum machine came next, then I needed a bottom so the cheap bass was bought, then my drums sucked so I needed loops. Then I wanted some strings/sax so my keyboard was bought. Well you know the drill the more you get the more you want and songs that took 3 hours now take 3 days. And so my one man 6th grade band was born.
I have put samples of the music I have written here on this website. I use drum loops and all other instruments are live Course you probably can tell that, LOL). Anyway as Harry Chapin's Mr. Tanner would say music is my life not my livelihood. I have met some great artists on SC and continue to hear great artists on SC. Click on the stations link to find Soundclick Radio stations where my music is playing. My music playing on these stations has been a pleasant surprise as these stations are filled with great musicians. I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with some very good musicians here on SC. My brother Jim, Svenni Bjorgvins, Juri Rosenfeld, Johnny Proctor, His Masters Choice, DeAnn Sanders, Dawn Sinclair and most recently Dawn Diamond. I am very grateful to all these artists for helping me to have more fun than should be allowed for free. Writing/recording/producing music I find to be very rewarding. I am learning so much everyday about every facet. The exposure to so many great musicians has really helped me evolve as well.
Well if you are still awake thanks for coming by.

Hey you seem to have dropped into this groove so easily. Billy J Kramer & The Dakota's/ The Searchers etc. This is pretty much a perfect pop song recalling that wonderful era. Damn it, it IS. top marks Tony.

OK, I am trying to make the rounds tonight. Happy Thanksgiving, sorry my Chiefs upset your Steelers, whoda figured?
Like the fast tempo and warm production on this one. Your vocals sound strong and the harmonies are on target.
Sorry I've been such a stranger. I haven't even turned on my recording machine in months, but lately I have picked up the acoustic guitar again. Been so damned busy. Hopefully this Christmas season I can get a tune out.

Dropped directly into British Invasion era London. Wonderfully crafted story, love the lead vocal, the in and out melodies, all the guitar work, and the great infectious vintage vibe. Quite an edge to this, enjoy the big sound a lot, excellent work!

I love this style of music and this is a great tune. Vocals and instruments are awesome as are the lyrics and arrangement.
I have to be totally honest about one thing.
Not only did it nearly blow my head phones off when I hit the play button but it sounds to be nearly saturated.
I understand the "Louder is Better" trend in the industry but my opinion is that this is very excessive for this genre.
It sounds like it has been brick walled and makeup gain applied to a level as close as possible to 0dBfs RMS.
In short: It sounds like one huge wall of sound with very little if any dynamic range and subtleties.
Rolling back the levels a few dBfs would make a dramatic improvement to the sound quality and listening experience.
Of course, opinions vary on this subject and it is still a great song.

Well, Gee, Tony, and to think I had to visit Gabe's site to see that you put up a new song, LOL!!
But, I gotcha covered(unless you not want a review from me becuz you thinks I'm too mean, LOL!!)..no scathing reviews; mix sounds pretty good.
The ONLY thing I hear, and it's probably because I'm listening on my laptop is the vocals PROBABLY need to come out a little more..but I don't think I would change the mix..you know how that goes. :)
Tony, you NAILED the vocals and harmony to the wall on this..and the music sounds great, too! :D
I like it!! :D

Tony,
sounds like you took a trip to London , I especially like the bouncy bass line and the Bridge melody on this one , You are getting quite good at this style which they now call " retro " I would love to hear a "Johnny version "of this also he is also very good at this stlye . the BPM is upbaet and uplifting . you should put this on the Mix also since they have a less muddy sounding player

WOW tony--you look like a close younger relative of sir james paul mccartney him self-down to the lefty handlling of the guitar. but your sound is so influenced by the early psychedelic period of the beatles 1965-66. your voice sounds more leenon though. amazing dude! and thanks for the good words about me--you rock tony DeLeece
Matter of Time ....well you just described my life really (sad eh?) and I do not know how you can say you feel you have nothing left to say and struggle with lyrics when this one is so spot on...but you're like me in that you don't appreciate your own talent though u see it in others. I am so glad you weren't put off by the misery in I Don't Believe in Angels....we cannot always write about the upside can we? And one thing I know about myself...I do sad better than I do happy LOL Thanks for the time Tony!! Always appreciate your insightful comments.
