Boogie on down with the living dead. Created for the CBC Monsters Ball October 2010
Just some scary fun for Halloween.
Or is it?
Sorry this wasn't going to have any lyrics or vocals but I took the dog out for a walk and it just sort of happened. I did get some funny looks though.
You've probably noticed them - they used to be ordinary living people but now they have become enslaved - everywhere they go they are held mesmerised by a glowing handheld object that controls their every breath. They no longer speak. They no longer have any awareness of their surroundings. They are under the complete control of the legions of Zuckerberg, all twitching and jerking in a macabre parody, like puppets dancing. Dancing ..... The ZOMBEAT!
Slow, slow
Row by row
The legion of walking corpses grow
What got into them?
No-one know
But they marching to the rhythm of the Zombeat
You can tell them as they exit
From the subway to the street
By the twitching of the fingers
And the shuffling of the feet
I don't think that they can see us
They only heed the commands
From the eerily glowing artefacts
They carry in their hands
Doing the Zombeat
The Zombeat, the Zombeat
The just-plain-wrong beat
The 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 beat
Twitching of the fingers
Shuffling of the feet
Doing the Zombeat
The Zombeeeeeeeat!
We lived in mortal fear
Til the realisation grew
That the way to escape their notice
Was to act the way they do
So I shuffle along with them
Like my soul has been destroyed
But I've become the very thing
That I was seeking to avoid
I'm one of them!
I'm one of them!
Doing the Zombeat
The Zombeat, the Zombeat
The just-plain-wrong beat
The 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 beat
Twitching of the fingers
Shuffling of the feet
Doing the Zombeat
Zombeeeeeeeat!
