This is a song I wrote a while back and it was originally blues but with the help of Colin Ward we re-vamped it into bluegrass. It is about a man/or woman, could be either, that is dreading sundown as they miss their love more then.
Dreading Sundown
After loving a woman like you
and heartbreak starts rounding the bend
I insist that I’m not really blue
But inside there’s no way to pretend
’Cause I’m dreading sundown, ohh, dreading sundown
When the day slowly comes to an end
it hits me that you and I are through
Then I know this lonely heart won’t ever mend
and I feel like singing the blues
So I’m dreading sundown, ohhh dreading sundown
Bridge
When the night comes the memories flood in
I lie in bed all alone and I cry
Think I’ll drown my sorrow once again
I can’t forget you, why bother to try?
Every minute of the afternoon
I watch as that ball’s sinking down
and I’m dreading the man in the moon
as I untie a heart that’s still bound
I’m dreading sundown, ohh dreading sundown
Musical Break
Tag
This heartache hangs ‘round
And I’m broken down
Don’t want to spend one more day
Oh, Dreading sundown Oh dreading sundown, oh no dreading sundown
Oh no, no, no
