She's Wearing Colours Now

Woman falls in love with a 'cool dude', he gets arrested, thrown in prison, he changes, so does she, he gets out, she loves the way the bloke is now as much as he was before.
My songs might be described as singer-songwritery, acoustoblues-ish.
I run the Bookbinders Open Mic, as well as being involved in other musical things, and it's a fabulous supportive venue for first-timers and more seasoned performers.

Story behind the song
I visited La Gorgona, off the coast of Colombia, where we were told some stories about the people who'd been imprisoned there when it was a prison island. This song came about thinking about those stories.
Lyrics
Catalina drove out to the farm Tearing up the rules while courage held her Tender were the words that found her secret Now she’s losing sight of all her shelter The smoke and mist now hide the cool warriors she no longer cares for She’s wearing colours now Bewildered in a place like La Gorgona Where beauty spits and prison offers refuge Where one day all his promises will falter Pride’s feathers fall in worthless gestures Beneath the smoke and mist has died the cool warrior she no longer cares for She’s wearing colours now The band encircles twice the love inside Takes a lot of love to heal the heartache All they see is songs that fill the jungle Colours blend and dazzle in the daybreak The smoke and mist now hide the only warrior she will ever care for She’s wearing colours now
